It Lives!

Time to jumpstart this thing. It’s been a while, but I have my reasons. Most notably, I’m in vet school now, my gall bladder has been evicted for shennanigans, and my cat has some kind of mystery GI illness that makes her puke all over my apartment. But that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped knitting. I just don’t knit as fast. So, this blog is going to become a haven for not only knitting and fiber frolics, but also a cooking and photography blog. Because I like doing that too. But, for old time’s sake, let’s look at some yarn.

These a pair of Evangeline/Natalya hybrid fingerless gloves made using Dream in Color Classy in Deep Sea Flower. The cable pattern is straight from Evangeline, and while I think the yarn is a little busy for the cable pattern, it still looks pretty good.

It’s a darn pretty cable pattern, don’t you think? I’m actually starting another pair of these, for me this time, with a different color and some fingers. Speaking of fingers, the original Evangeline pattern didn’t have them, so the construction actually follows the Natalya pattern.

I’m not sure what exactly I did when making these fingers, but I will say I don’t think I followed the pattern quite right. They seemed to work out, but I’m gonna try a different finger-making approach with the second pair. Right at the base, each fingers looks kind of like a sea-creature appendage instead of an elegant phalange casing. Oh well. Sparkles seems to like them.

Sparkles says, “Grrrr. Arrrrg.”

Next on the blog, look for Mississippi Mud Brownies, and a trip to Uvas Canyon. And ladybugs. Oh, the ladybugs.
